“But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me: But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision. Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do” (Galatians 2:6-10).
“But of these who were thought to be somewhat — whatever sort they formerly were — it matters not to me — Elohim takes no human by face for those thought to be counselors added naught; but contrariwise, when they saw that the uncircumcised were entrusted to me, exactly as the circumcised to Petros — for he who energized in Petros to the apostleship of the circumcision, energized in me to the goyim: and when Yaaqovos and Kepha and Yahn, thought to be pillars, knew the charism given me, they gave the right of communion to me and Bar Nabi; — we to the goyim and they to the circumcision: only that we remember the poor; which I also was diligent to do.” (exeGeses parallel BIBLE – used by permission)
Paul received the thumbs up from the other Apostles concerning his revelation of Jesus Christ based not on the flesh, but after the Spirit. Notice the very same energy that worked in Peter’s Apostleship was working in Paul’s. He said to the Colossians, “Unto which I am even toiling, contending according to his energy which is energising itself in me with power.” (Rotherham) This word “energising” is from the same Greek root word as used in the above verse (wrought effectually).
However, trouble in the camp came brewing when Peter began acting contrary to Paul’s Gospel of grace. He was acting one way with the circumcision and another way with the Gentile believers. As a result, Paul had to confront this important issue.
