1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
Paul was not a man appointed apostle, he was God appointed. This word apostle means “delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders.” Man did not send Paul forth, only God. It is important to note that God the Father raised His Son Jesus Christ from the dead. The word dead here in Greek means “destitute of life, without life, inanimate, spiritually dead.” We were in union with His death, burial, suffering, and resurrection. Keep that in mind throughout your Christian life. You do not have a life anymore, it all begins and ends in God. Christ is now our very life.
